All the paperboard in the Tetra Rex® Bio-based package comes from FSC™-certified and controlled sources, and is traceable to its origins. The low-density polyethylene used to create the laminate film for the packaging material, the neck of the opening, and the cap are all made from sugarcane.
The Tetra Rex Bio-based package can meet tough environmental targets and regulations by "recycling" CO2 that is already present in the atmosphere, which means no added carbon emissions. A fully renewable package can give companies the competitive edge, being the natural environmental choice for consumers.
77% of consumers feel companies don’t do enough to help protect the environment. With 73% of consumers saying they would pay 5% or more for products in an environmentally friendly package, the Tetra Rex Bio-based package makes an excellent choice.
The Tetra Rex Bio-based package has already won many prestigious awards including The Special Environment Prize for 2015 at the “Oscars of Packaging”, the Green Star Packaging awards, and a Gold award at the inaugural Pro2Pac Excellence Awards. It was also awarded in the sustainable innovation category at the Ethical Corporation's Annual Responsible Business Awards ceremony in London.
“We believe growing our business sustainably is not just good for the environment, it also improves our competitiveness and provides product differentiation. Thanks to Tetra Rex Bio-based, we have been able to take a significant step towards our own environmental goals and have committed to making all our milk cartons renewable from next year”.
